Bill Albright (photo on right) is a full-time guide/lecturer and former B.A.S.S. Top 100 Touring Professional and Red
Man All-American. Bill resides in Lake Ariel, PA (near
Lake Wallenpaupack). Bill is a member of the Bass Anglers Sportsman Society (B.A.S.S) and the Professional Bass
Anglers Association.
1/2 day or full day trips are provided in a new fully rigged Ranger bass boat. Bill provides guide service on the
following
Lakes/Rivers.
Tackle is furnished if needed. Transportation and lodging can also be arranged if needed. Arrangements can also be made

The Backwoods Angler was founded
in 2000 by Blaine Mengel, Jr. We offer professionally guided smallmouth
bass fishing trips on the Delaware River, Susquehanna River, Schuylkill River
and other select waters in Eastern and Central PA. Blaine
is fully insured by Charter Lakes Insurance Co., in Michigan and he is certified
in CPR, First Aid and Water Safety. The Backwoods Angler utilized the
finest products in the industry. I am sponsored by Mizmo Bait Company,
Don's Handcrafted Jigs, Johnson's Custom Spinnerbaits, Quarrow rods, McCoy
Fishing Line, and Big Mouth Lures. I have recently been added to the Delaware
Valley Outdoors Pro Staff.
The
Backwoods Angler has been profiled in The Morning Call and Reading Eagle
newspapers, as well as by A Great Day Outdoors TV and Pennsylvania Outdoor Life,
WNEP-TV. I do speaking engagements on Delaware River smallmouth bass
fishing. I contribute a weekly fishing report for The
Morning Call newspaper, Ken Penrod's Mid-Atlantic fishing report and Delaware
Valley Outdoors TV/Radio/Internet.

January, 2003, I joined Ken
Penrod's Life Outdoors Unlimited team of professional guides as an
associate guide. LOU has been serving the Mid-Atlantic region for over 20
years and has grown to be one of the largest and most respected guide services
in the country.
The Backwoods
Angler is a family business. We operate 12 months per year and 7 days per
week. All trips are run with an aluminum bass boat propelled by a Mercury
jet motor for shallow water navigation.

have been active as a Freshwater Fisherman in the Mid Atlantic area for forty
years. As a lifetime member of B.A.S.S. and N.A.F.C. I have competed in and
won events on several tournament circuits and spend many days each year on the
water adding to and improving my first hand knowledge and skills. While
enjoying the time spent on the water, I have collected many trophies and
awards such as the In-Fisherman Master Angler Award and the Mepps / Mr.
Twister Grand Slam Award with the recognition of ten different, Freshwater
species, trophy class fish. In 2004, I have won awards for The Biggest Bass of
the Year for both my Largemouth and Smallmouth catches.
As a former educator and
proud father, I truly enjoy helping and assisting others to improve and enrich
