I just checked with the Pa Fish and Boat Commission at our regional office. The Alabama Rig is NOT legal to use with 5 hooks in Pa waters. 3 is the maximum amount of hooks any line can have on it, whether it is trebles or singles. If you use all 5 lures, two of them need to be just teasers without hooks.

I wasn't planning to use it anyway but was just curious.

How to Fish for Fluke & Flounder DVD

How to Fish for Fluke & Flounder

Recently Delaware Valley Outdoors was selected by Navionics to use their electronic charting software in our DVD and Broadcast media. This software enables an angler to have at the tips of their fingers almost any waterway in the Northeastern part of the country. Available as a chip that fits into mid to higher priced plotters and fish finders, a smart phone app and also a home computer app, anglers now have much more info readily available to them for very reasonable prices.

We now have the app installed on our home computers and have found it very easy to use. A user can easily look at an entire body of water in the comfort of their home or on a lap top at a fishing camp, motel room or even in a boat without the need or hassle of paper charts. The chart has not only contour lines but also includes aids to navigation (buoys).

On the bottom of the screen while using the app is a bar that includes setting which among other things allows the view of actual roadways with street names. This can be very useful for shoreline anglers that need to navigate to the water’s edge. In this bar is also a distance button which will allow you know in advance how far the distance is from a launch to a distant fishing spot or the distance between individual fishing locations. Another feature allows finding the GPS location of an area with the click of the mouse.

While the few details in this article have proven very useful to us already there are quite a few more features we haven’t even touched on including community interactions and the ability to search for waypoints to name a few.

We’ve found this tool to be a great addition to our angling arsenal and highly recommend it to other anglers. For more info on Navionics software go to navionics.com
